There are many things and people that I have looked up to since I was a little girl such as princesses and famous people that are rich. There have been plenty of people who have helped me as a role model and to help shape me into who I am today.
As most of us know the famous Britney Spears because of most of her popular songs such as ‘Oops… I did it again’ and ‘Toxic’, she also was in a very rough place in her life in the year 2007 which is when she decided to shave her head due to an anxiety attack. Britney was going through a hard time while trying to gain custody of her children when she had found out that they would probably find drugs in her system and hair because of the drug tests they were going to construct on her. After the shaving of her head, she had multiple more drug uses in early 2008 and then was put into a psychiatric hospital for a couple days until she discharged herself from the hospital because she knew that she was no harm to herself.
Spears became more famous after these events occurred when a popular saying was made up, “If Britney Spears can make it through 2007, then you can make it through today”. As all of this happened, I was 8 years old and didn’t really understand the drug use and why she did what she did I mostly just thought she shaved her head because she was crazy. Growing up, I realized that she had a very rough year and did have a lot of things going on and just because one person is famous does not mean that they are happy in life. I think that my last years in high school and my first year in college really made me think about Spears because of the saying. A lot of people, including myself do have a lot of stress put on them with school, jobs, and having to come up with money for food and other things like rent where sometimes you just don't think that things are going to get any better and you are at a low point in your life but the saying about Spears and the way that she continued to make music and had a great comeback really inspires me. This is one thing that keeps me with a positive attitude most of the time, knowing that all people have things in their lives that happen but they come back and feel better than ever.

  1. Amanda! I loved how you talked about how it keeps a positive attitude towards you. I can relate to how you talk about being happy and how it has to do with growing up. Also loved how you picked to do it on Britney because you brought out the positive examples she sets for you. This shows how you made a connection to you and your artifact.

  2. Hey Amanda! I like how you were inspired with Brittany after making a comeback from her lowest point. I had my share of ups and down but I never fold when things get too tough and that's what Brittany ended up doing. Its good that by learning from your mistakes can turn your life around if you're willing to make that commitment.

  3. Hi Amanda!
I love how you are using Britney as your example! I grew up listening to her music while I was still sitting in a car seat. Seeing her go through such a rough time in 2007-2008 was difficult because I admired her for so many years. I agree with how having a positive attitude can influence your life for the better.
